Exeter dominated the opening exchanges after we were reduced to 10 men early in the first half. Despite the setback, we got into the game and probably against the run of play took the lead with a goal from Simon Street. It was 0-1 at HT.
At the start of the 2nd half, Exeter pressed their man advantage, started to dominate, and forced a series of short corners. Finally after a period of possession one short corner paid off and they equalised. A few minutes later, James Player intercepted a poor 16 yard hit out and calmly lifted the ball over the advancing keeper and we were 1-2 up.
As the game progressed, the extra man became more prevalent, with Exeter dominant. Seb Hales made some valiant saves, keeping us ahead, but was wrong footed by a miss hit short corner and it was 2-2. Shortly after, from yet another short corner it was 3-2, this one was well struck from the top of the circle. Despite some late pressure, we were unable to get the equalising goal and it ended 3-2.
No game for the 3s next week so our next outing is away at ISCA on 21 March.
